First stop-my brother's farm
Beauty and Bureaucracy
Monday is having a great time. He likes being a farm dog. His off-leash status however has become somewhat conditional after chasing the black hen halfway down the hill. We didn't know whether she broke her neck till she made it home to roost that night. He didn't mean to end up inside the goat's pasture either, with electric fencing on all sides, too afraid to come out and be shocked again. Sheep respond immediately to his barks-they run as fast as they can to the other side of the hill. I guess he doesn't just look like a miniature version of a sheep dog, he also acts like one-minus the training. Cows, on the other hand, are not so impressed by this little guy jumping up and down in front of them. They look at him as if they are saying:"What do you want?".
The rest of us is easily pleased with the beauty around us but we can't ignore the bureaucracy that goes with living in a place like this. Seems like we have to have an address to get an address. Doesn't make sense to me. The last few days were spent looking around car lots that my son calls junk yards to find a small inexpensive car to replace the rental car we have to return in a few days. You have to make an appointment to test-drive a car because they have to unscramble the parking puzzle first to get the car out. Instead of writing this blog I should be looking into getting car insurance. Yeah! My favorite thing to do!
One day at a time, one step at a time... till next time.
